E. Michael Martin (b. 25 December, 1986, Aberdeen, South Dakota) is a composer in the 20th Century British tradition, inspired especially by the works of Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughan Williams. His tonal language reflects a love for tonality and neotonal meoldies that draw their influence from music around the world. He has a catalogue of works that spans many genres from Instrumental Solo pieces to Opera. Not shying away from any challenges, he readily accepts commissions on a case-by-case basis. Previous commissions for both voice and instrument have resulted in premiers in concerts and recitals. Personal projects, such as the Sonata for Piano have also received recognition.

Graduating from Simpson College with a B.A. in Vocal Performance, E. Michael Martin is steeped in the tradition of Opera and stage music. His recent premier of Wonderland an opera in one act with a libretto by Rachel Gull, was lauded by Dr. Robert Larsen of the Des Moines Metropolitan Opera, among others. He plans to further his experience writing opera by working with performers at the University of Oklahoma. Those interested in commissioning E.
